Hi there!! My name is Lisa Cooke Martin. I studied and worked as a psychiatric nurse for 11 years focused on Cognitive Behavioral Psychology, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, and Group Therapy. I managed a large Chiropractic practice for 25 years, where I assessed needs, provided education and support to live a healthy life. Earned a NASM Certification for Personal Training in 2019, and a Jay Shetty certification as a
Life Courage Coach in 2023.
I have been developing my approach to serving others for more than 35 years. I have landed on a Holistic Approach, bridging spirituality and science that encourages us to tap into the Universe and the amazing gifts we embody. Neuroscience is on the rise with some interesting studies that support, “You can teach old dogs’ new tricks”. This is very exciting, and I believe everyone can change their perspective creating healthy practices through Life Coaching.
My coaching process is an interactive experience focused on facilitating self-discovery, creating awareness, emphasizing personal growth, and supporting personal insights. Sharing a safe space where we can be honest, and open with each other with no judgement. I do not take building a relationship lightly. It requires time, energy, commitment, and respect. We will work hard together, assessing your needs, wants, and expectations. We may use tools to uncover solutions leading to a shift in perspective, allowing for more profound and empowering transformation. There will be goal setting, evaluating rituals, habits, and self-love. We will explore potential for achieving goals, and possible roadblocks. We will create an action plan and reset it when needed. There may be tears and frustrations, but there will also be awareness, joys, and triumphs. The important thing is we will do it together.
I was born and raised in a cool little town called Dundalk Maryland. I was surrounded by water and a community of people that I called family. I believe I grew up in the absolute best of times in American history. I was born in the 60’s, went through school in the 70’s, and began my adult journey in the 80’s. I was curious, energetic, and always challenging rules set by others. My Mom would tell you I was a "handful". I accumulated lots of friends along my way, all of which I continuously learn from, and I cherish deeply. Friendships hold great value, I want them, I need them, and I work hard to keep them. I am a great friend. I love making personal connections with anyone open to sharing a thought, belief, memory, or a hug.
I married the love of my life, Mike in 1988 and settled down to make a beautiful family. I have amazing adult children, Hannah and Luke. I am reminded of the reason to have children every time I look at my grandchildren, Thatcher and Theadora. They are the reasons I continue to challenge myself to think bigger and do more to make our world a better place!
We moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 2020 to be near the beach and away from the pressures of social media, internet, and noise. This is how I learned to reconnect with me, dig deep, and redefine my purpose. Shore2change was born, and I could not be more excited to share it with you.
As a professionally trained Jay Shetty certified life coach, I have the tools and experience to help you to create the life you imagine and get a renewed love for your authentic self.
